Main Purpose:

As a Disbursements Checker you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our shipping division. Your main responsibility is to ensure accurate handling of port costs disbursements and endeavour to minimize expenses for the Group. In more detail this will mean negotiation with agents, review of charter parties regarding port costs clauses, update of accounting and monitoring software, communication with ship owners with regards to port costs and costs reporting to Deals Desk and Traders.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

  • Must be educated in shipping studies to degree level
  • Understanding port costs function
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
  • Excellent organization skills, time management, prioritization
  • Attention to details
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good written and verbal communication

  • Review charter party – ensure which party is responsible for port costs
  • Reporting to the management

The Disbursements Team in Athens handles all D/As for the entire Trafigura Group (for Oil, Gas & Dry), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of all Disbursements Accounts.
