Short Description – Duties and Responsibilities: Business Development Manager The successful candidate is expected to:

• Network and attract new collaborations, including the identification of new opportunities for technology transfer, Intellectual Property (IP), and entrepreneurship stemming from the Center’s research activities, and liaising with industrial partners and stakeholders to develop long-lasting collaboration opportunities based on the expertise and goals of the Center.
• Contribute to the Identification and management of the Center’s IP and seek IP exploitation opportunities.
• Contribute to the overall strategic decisions of the innovation hub and the KIOS CoE in general, participate in internal committees of the Center, and contribute actively to the training, education, and dissemination activities of the KIOS CoE.

Innovation Hub Project Manager The successful candidate is expected to:

• Manage innovation and technology transfer projects and activities. This includes overseeing the progress and successful completion of innovation hub projects, contributing towards dissemination and communication activities managed by the innovation hub, coordinating efforts to implement standard operating procedures and key performance indicators relevant to the innovation hub, and coordinating the administrative and financial requirements for innovation proposals preparation.
• Collaborate with the Business Development Manager for managing the Center’s relationships with the industry.
• Contribute to the identification and management of the Center’s IP, by maintaining the IP audit list of the Center, providing advice for IP opportunities, and managing IP processes and procedures.

Required knowledge:

10 Υποτροφίες για το Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα Σπουδών στα «Ευφυή Συστήματα Υποδομών Ζωτικής Σημασίας» και ευκαιρίες εργοδότησης προσφέρει το Κέντρο Αριστείας “Κοίος”

Το Κέντρο Αριστείας για Έρευνα και Καινοτομία «Κοίος» προσφέρει δέκα (10) υποτροφίες για φοίτηση στο Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα Σπουδών στα «Ευφυή Συστήματα Υποδομών Ζωτικής Σημασίας» για το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 2023-2024. Το Πρόγραμμα προσφέρεται από το Τμήμα Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Υπολογιστών του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου, σε συνεργασία με το Κέντρο Αριστείας για Έρευνα και Καινοτομία «Κοίος» και το Imperial College London. Οι υποτροφίες θα απονεμηθούν σε νεοεισερχόμενες/ους φοιτήτριες/ές που θα γίνουν δεκτοί στο Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα με βάση την ακαδημαϊκή τους επίδοση και θα καλύπτουν μέχρι το 100% των διδάκτρων. Επιπλέον, δίνεται η δυνατότητα στους υποψηφίους φοιτητές/τριες να υποβάλουν αίτηση για μερική απασχόληση στο Κέντρο Αριστείας «Κοίος», το μεγαλύτερο ερευνητικό κέντρο του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου σε θέματα Τεχνολογιών Πληροφοριών και Επικοινωνιών (ΤΠΕ) (Information and Communication Technologies-ICT), λαμβάνοντας μηνιαίο εισόδημα. • Υποτροφία για κάλυψη των διδάκτρων: Καλύπτει το 50% – 100% των διδάκτρων ανάλογα με τα προσόντα των υποψηφίων.
• Υποτροφία για απασχόληση: Περιλαμβάνει ένα μηνιαίο (ακαθάριστο) εισόδημα της τάξης των €750-€1100, αναλόγως των ωρών εργασίας, για μερική απασχόληση στο Κέντρο Αριστείας «Κοίος». Από τις μηνιαίες ακαθάριστες απολαβές θα αποκόπτονται οι εισφορές του εργοδοτούμενου στα διάφορα ταμεία του κράτους. Ο 13ος μισθός είναι ενσωματωμένος στον μηνιαίο μισθό. Άδεια μητρότητας, θα χορηγείται με βάση του περί Προστασίας της Μητρότητας Νόμος του 1997 (Ν.100(Ι)/1997), καθώς και των υφιστάμενων τροποποιητικών νόμων. 5 Υποτροφίες για Διδακτορικές Σπουδές

Το Κέντρο Αριστείας για Έρευνα και Καινοτομία «Κοίος» του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου δέχεται αιτήσεις για την παραχώρηση πέντε (5) υποτροφιών για Διδακτορικούς φοιτητές και φοιτήτριες πλήρους φοίτησης. Οι φοιτητές και φοιτήτριες που θα επιλεγούν θα εγγραφούν είτε στο πρόγραμμα Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών είτε Μηχανικών Υπολογιστών του Τμήματος Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Υπολογιστών (ΗΜΜΥ) του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. Το  Τμήμα ΗΜΜΥ διεξάγει έρευνα αιχμής σε διεθνές επίπεδο, προσφέροντας ολοκληρωμένα προγράμματα σπουδών τα οποία καλύπτουν ένα ευρύ φάσμα γνώσεων και επιστημονικών πεδίων. Όροι υποτροφίας Η υποτροφία θα είναι για ένα έτος, ανανεώσιμη ετησίως με βάση την πρόοδο και την επίδοση του φοιτητή ή της φοιτήτριας, μέχρι την ολοκλήρωση των σπουδών, για διάστημα 3-5 ετών. The successful candidate will conduct research and development activities within the context of research and innovation, as well as provide technical and research support in the area of Information and Communication Technologies with emphasis on the monitoring, control and security of critical infrastructure systems. • Design a long-term forecasting methodology to estimate the load demand and the total photovoltaic installations in each substation of Electricity Authority of Cyprus.
• Develop a software tool (with a user interface) to perform statistical analysis of the operating conditions and to forecast the load demand and distributed generation.
• Design and develop simulation models for power systems or power electronics converters using MATLAB/Simulink or DigSILENT.
• Develop digital twins for power systems (using a real time simulator) and perform hardware in the loop investigations.
• Develop monitoring, control and optimization applications that will interact in real-time with the power systems digital twins.
• Attend project meetings for technical coordination of tasks.
• Prepare reports and project deliverables.
• Contribute to the generation of results to be published in top international conferences and scientific journals.

The required skills and expertise for the announced position include one or more of the following areas:

• Operation, monitoring, control, and optimization of renewable-rich power systems.
• Long-term forecasting of load demand or generation for planning purposes and short-term forecasting for energy management purposes.
• Grid integration of renewable energy sources and control of power electronics converters.
• Technical expertise and experience in simulation and modeling of power systems, using commercial simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD).
• Technical expertise on real time simulations and hardware in the loop investigations.

Employment Terms: The position is on a contract basis. Initially, a one-year contract will be offered, which is renewable based on performance. The gross monthly salary depends on the candidate’s qualifications and experience and will be between €1500 – €2500. From this amount, employee contributions to the Cyprus government funds will be deducted. The 13^th salary bonus is incorporated in the monthly salary. Maternity leave will be granted based on Maternity Protection Law 1997(Ν.100(Ι)/1997), and the existing amendment laws.
