DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with strong technical background and a “get-things-done” attitude. You will be part of our Core Team, living at the critical intersection of product and infrastructure while building technology to accelerate the fastest growing product that is changing the food delivery landscape. REQUIREMENTS

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 5 years of proven working experience as a software engineer in a professional setting
  • We span languages here: deep software development experience in either NodeJS or PHP is required. Go experience is a plus (but you should be able to learn it fast)
  • Ability to pick up new languages (given the time and the resources)
  • Solid understanding of operating and scaling large-scale distributed systems in practice (including application security, monitoring and managing incidents)
  • Good understanding of distributed scalable systems
  • Strong algorithm and Computer Science skills
Bonus points if you have:
  • Great sense of humour
  • Experience in working on the (micro|milli|nano)seconds zone
  • Comfort in TDD and other testing practices
  • Experience with containerisation and job scheduling technologies
  • Contributed in open-source projects
  • Experience in designing, building and maintaining highly scalable, reliable and fault-tolerant services

DESCRIPTION

Our successful candidate will serve as leader, focused on delivery, of an agile (Scrum) product team, and will be responsible for:
  • Driving the tactical day-to-day product delivery process
  • Coaching the team on agile principles, values and practices
  • Supporting the team to deliver with maximum velocity by eliminating impediments and resolving conflicts
  • Helping the team to balance business needs versus technical constraints
  • Working side-by-side with Product Owners to ensure clear requirements
  • Coordinating with other delivery and engineering leads to identify and manage cross team dependencies
  • Facilitating all process events (plannings, retrospectives, backlog groomings, reviews, user story mapping workshops etc.)

Essential Skills

Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου Το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου ιδρύθηκε το 1989 και λειτούργησε στη Λευκωσία το 1992, ενώ μέσα από αυτή τη σύντομη αλλά δημιουργική πορεία ανάπτυξης, κατέκτησε τη διεθνή
καταξίωση και σήμερα βρίσκεται στα 52 καλύτερα νέα Πανεπιστήμια του κόσμου και ανάμεσα στα 351-400 καλύτερα πανεπιστήμια του κόσμου (Times New Higher Education Rankings). Αυτή η μεγάλη διάκριση είναι αποτέλεσμα της αφοσίωσης στην αριστεία και στη συνεχή εξέλιξη. Κατάφερε να ξεχωρίζει και να βραβεύεται στο ιδιαίτερα απαιτητικό και δυναμικό πεδίο της έρευνας, ανοίγοντας νέους επιστημονικούς δρόμους. Το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου κάθε χρόνο γίνεται καλύτερο. Γι’ αυτό και θέλει να έχει μαζί του τους καλύτερους. Στην κατεύθυνση αυτή τα προγράμματα σπουδών του βρίσκονται σε συνεχή εξέλιξη και η πρόσληψη προσωπικού υψηλού επιπέδου συμβάλλει ουσιαστικά στο σχεδιασμό και προσφορά νέων προγραμμάτων σπουδών σε προπτυχιακό και μεταπτυχιακό επίπεδο σπουδών. Στρατηγικός στόχος του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου αποτελεί η περαιτέρω προώθηση και ανάπτυξη της έρευνας στην οποία το νέο ερευνητικό προσωπικό αναμένεται να διαδραματίσει ουσιαστικό ρόλο.
Κέντρο Αριστείας για Έρευνα και Καινοτομία «Κοίος» Το Ερευνητικό Κέντρο «Κοίος» αποτελεί τη μεγαλύτερη Ερευνητική Μονάδα του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου, η οποία πρόσφατα αναβαθμίστηκε σε Ευρωπαϊκό Κέντρο Αριστείας για Έρευνα και Καινοτομία μέσω του έργου KIOS CoE Teaming. Το «Κοίος» σήμερα απασχολεί περισσότερους από 100 ερευνητές (σε διάφορες βαθμίδες), οι οποίοι υποστηρίζονται από εξωτερικά χρηματοδοτούμενα ερευνητικά προγράμματα. Το «Κοίος» παρέχει ένα εξαιρετικό περιβάλλον για διεξαγωγή κορυφαίου επιπέδου έρευνας στην περιοχή της Τεχνολογίας Πληροφοριών και Επικοινωνιών, με έμφαση στην παρακολούθηση, τη διαχείριση, τον έλεγχο και την ασφάλεια μεγάλης κλίμακας υποδομών ζωτικής σημασίας, που συμπεριλαμβάνουν συστήματα παραγωγής, μεταφοράς και διανομής ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας, δίκτυα παροχής νερού, συστήματα μεταφορών, δίκτυα τηλεπικοινωνιών και συστήματα διαχείρισης και ανταπόκρισης σε καταστάσεις έκτακτης ανάγκης. Το Κέντρο στοχεύει στη διεπιστημονική αλληλεπίδραση και προωθεί τη συνεργασία μεταξύ βιομηχανίας, πανεπιστημίων και ερευνητικών οργανισμών σε τομείς υψηλής τεχνολογίας παγκόσμιας σημασίας. Το Ερευνητικό Κέντρο «Κοίος» λειτουργεί ως εργοδότης ίσων ευκαιριών.
ΟΡΟΙ ΑΠΑΣΧΟΛΗΣΗΣ Η εργοδότηση των ερευνητών/τριών θα γίνεται με συμβόλαιο. Η διάρκεια απασχόλησης θα είναι ενός έτους, με δυνατότητα ανανέωσης βάσει απόδοσης για μεγάλη χρονική περίοδο χωρίς περιορισμούς. Ο μηνιαίος μισθός συμπεριλαμβάνει εισφορές εργοδοτούμενου, θα είναι αναλόγως προσόντων και πείρας και θα κυμαίνεται μεταξύ €1000 – €2000 για κατόχους BSc/MSc και μεταξύ €1800 – €3000 για κάτοχους PhD. Ο 13ος μισθός είναι ενσωματωμένος στον μηνιαίο μισθό. Οι εργοδοτούμενοι, σύμφωνα με τη Νομοθεσία του ΓεΣΥ θα έχουν εξωνοσοκομειακή ιατροφαρμακευτική κάλυψη από 01/06/2019 και για το σκοπό αυτό θα συνεισφέρουν το 1,7% των μηνιαίων ακαθάριστων απολαβών τους από την ημέρα εργοδότησης τους. (το ποσοστό συνεισφοράς θα αυξηθεί στο 2,65% από 01/03/2020). Περαιτέρω παρέχεται η επιλογή ένταξης στο ιδιωτικό σχέδιο ιατροφαρμακευτικής περίθαλψης με κόστος 3,95% επί του ακαθάριστου μισθού (αν οι εβδομαδιαίες ώρες εργασίας είναι τουλάχιστον 18). Άδεια μητρότητας, θα χορηγείται με βάση τους περί Κοινωνικών Ασφαλίσεων Νόμους του 1980 έως 2012.
ΠΡΟΣΟΝΤΑ
  • Πτυχίο ή/και Μεταπτυχιακό Τίτλο Σπουδών (MSc, PhD) Ηλεκτρολόγου Μηχανικού ή Μηχανικού Υπολογιστών ή Πληροφορικής ή Μαθηματικών ή σε παρεμφερή κλάδο, από αναγνωρισμένο Ανώτατο Εκπαιδευτικό Ίδρυμα.
  • Προηγούμενη ερευνητική εμπειρία θα θεωρηθεί ως επιπρόσθετο προσόν.
 
ΚΑΘΗΚΟΝΤΑ ΚΑΙ ΕΥΘΥΝΕΣ Οι επιτυχείς υποψήφιοι/ες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να διεξάγουν βασική και εφαρμοσμένη έρευνα στην περιοχή των Τεχνολογιών Πληροφορικής και Επικοινωνιών, με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στην παρακολούθηση, τον έλεγχο και την ασφάλεια συστημάτων σε υποδομές ζωτικής σημασίας. Αναλόγως των προσόντων και εμπειρίας τους, οι επιτυχόντες υποψήφιοι/ες θα είναι υπεύθυνοι/ες για την προετοιμασία των εκθέσεων και παραδοτέων των προγραμμάτων, θα συμβάλλουν στην προετοιμασία ερευνητικών προτάσεων, στην ανάπτυξη αλγόριθμων και λογισμικών καθώς και στην καθοδήγηση και επίβλεψη προπτυχιακών φοιτητών/τριών. Επιπλέον, οι επιτυχόντες υποψήφιοι/ες θα ενθαρρύνονται να δημοσιεύουν τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας τους σε διεθνή συνέδρια και περιοδικά.
