PURCHASING OPERATOR – LOAD LINE MARINE S.A.

Department Reports to: Purchasing Manager Employment Type: Full-time

Availability: Immediate or as agreed

Job Purpose: To assist in the efficient and effective implementation of the company’s purchasing policy and forwarding strategies, ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of goods and services required for the safe and uninterrupted operation of the vessels.

Key Responsibilities

Organize and coordinate the purchase of stores, provisions, spare parts, lubricants, paints, chemicals, equipment and all related goods and services required for vessel operations.

Perform all tasks related to stores/provisions, paints/chemicals, lubricants, spares and forwarding.

Review and evaluate vendor quotations in terms of quality, price, and delivery time, and report findings to the Purchasing Manager.

Monitor vessels’ spare parts lists and inventories, cross-checking them against requisitions.

Maintain, update and circulate Requisition Lists, including remarks for other Departments.

Ensure safe and timely delivery of all orders onboard vessels.

Review and assess invoices for spares, stores, provisions, and forwarding services, ensuring inclusion of all agreed discounts and purchase terms prior to approval.

Monitor and evaluate LO (Lubricating Oil) requirements and prepare stems for approval by the Technical Manager.

Supervise the purchasing organization of spares, equipment, provisions, deck and engine stores, lubricants, paints and chemicals.

Supervise freight forwarding services and stockpiles.

Obtain forwarding details and inform suppliers, Masters and Agents of delivery points and methods.

Handle export procedures, customs in/out formalities, freight rate evaluation and fixing, payment arrangements, and documentation, especially for spare parts and equipment.

Follow up on deliveries until completion onboard, cross-check delivery receipts and invoices, verify delivery completion, and file ships’ delivery notes.

Arrange forwarding of required publications in cooperation with relevant Managers.

Maintain and update the approved suppliers list, incorporating feedback from other Departments.

Maintain accurate records of purchase requests, supplier evaluations, certifications and relevant documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Shipping or a related field.

3–5 years of experience in a relevant purchasing or logistics in the maritime sector.

Strong command of the English language (written and spoken).

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

High sense of responsibility and accountability.

Resilience and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
