Job Overview: The Purchasing Assistant supports our procurement operations by handling administrative tasks, maintaining accurate purchasing records, verifying deliveries and invoices and monitoring vessel inventory levels to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day administrative tasks related to purchasing activities
- Maintain and update purchase records and documentation
- Verify deliveries against purchase orders and ensure accuracy
- Review and process supplier invoices in a timely manner
- Monitor and track vessel inventory levels, always ensuring adequate stock
- Communicate with suppliers and internal departments to resolve discrepancies
- Assist in coordinating orders and deliveries to vessels
Requirements:
- Degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies or a related field
- Previous experience in a similar purchasing or procurement role
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Good communication and coordination abilities
