DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a highly motivated, proactive Finance Intern who is interested in pursuing a career in a newly established, dynamic and innovative shipping group for a 6-months internship.
The Finance Intern will be responsible for tracking and reporting key information related to our shipping and technology business and helping support the finance team across a variety of tasks. This role will report directly to the company’s Financial Controller, and will be assisting the Finance team in:
- The execution of Signal companies’ daily electronic and paper payments
- Liaising with relevant departments for preparation of payments, resolving payment related issues
- Communicating with banks regarding various operating issues
- Analyzing, summarizing, and providing a concise description of cash balances and variances over time
- Preparing periodic financial reports and forecasts
- Maintaining a detailed accrual and prepayments schedule, petty cash and other appropriate records

REQUIREMENTS
- University degree (BSc/MSc) in Accounting & Finance and/or Economics, Maritime studies
- Proven basic shipping industry knowledge
- A good level of numerical understanding
- Working experience within accounting and finance field will be a plus
- Experience with Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Excellence in timelines, consistency of data entry and customer service mindset
- Organizational skills, attention to detail
- Team player with good communication skills
