Are you a programmer with solid quantitative skills and the ability of decomposing complex data structures into engaging visualisations? If so we have an opportunity for aJunior Data Scientistthat will be part of a talented software team that works on the development of novel data visualization projects for our clients’ web applications. S/he will be responsible for application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from technical architecture to functional testing.
Typical Responsibilities
- Investigate, design and implement big data visualizations to support client requirements and support requests.
- Follow approved life cycle methodologies and perform program coding and testing.
- Resolve technical issues through debugging, research and investigation.
- Work autonomously (as part of a larger team) to investigate problems in a given codebase, identify the root cause and propose, develop and test a stable technical solution.
Requirements
To be successful, your resume would need to clearly illustrate the following
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, analytics or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Proven hands on web development experience with more than 3 years of professional experience.
- Object Oriented analysis and design ;
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL;
- JavaScript development
- Programming experience in either PHP or Python or Java
- Linux experience (Any flavor)
The Following will be considered a plus:
- Experience with an Agile Development Methodologies (ie SCRUM, LEAN, KANBAN)
- No SQL database experience;
- Knowledge of R will be considered favorably
- Experience in developing with JavaScript visualization libraries.
