Το ΕΛΙΑΜΕΠ αποτελεί το συνδετικό κρίκο ανάμεσα στο Κολλέγιο της Ευρώπης και τους Έλληνες υποψήφιους, φιλοξενώντας την Επιτροπή Ελλήνων Υποψηφίων για το Κολλέγιο της Ευρώπης. Το Κολλέγιο της Ευρώπης ιδρύθηκε το 1949 και είναι ένα ακαδημαϊκό κέντρο που εκπαιδεύει μεταπτυχιακούς φοιτητές και φοιτήτριες για να εργαστούν και να ζήσουν σε ένα διεθνές περιβάλλον. Έχει πέντε προγράμματα σπουδών που καταλήγουν σε μεταπτυχιακό τίτλο και λειτουργεί σε τρεις πανεπιστημιακές εγκαταστάσεις, στη Bruges (Βέλγιο), στο Natolin (Πολωνία)και στα Τίρανα (Αλβανία). Traineeships in Banking Supervision – Legal Profile – ECB

Your team

One of the tasks of the ECB is to contribute to a safe and sound European banking system. We carry out this task as part of a system of European banking supervisors called the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM). It comprises the ECB and the national supervisory authorities of the participating countries.
We supervise the euro area’s largest banks, working in Joint Supervisory Teams, and oversee the supervision of all other banks, working with supervisors from national competent authorities across the euro area. We supervise banks on a day-to-day basis and conduct focused on-site inspections. Supervisors may specialise in fields as diverse as internal governance, credit risk, capital markets, operational resilience, climate risk, cyber risk, geopolitical risk, business models, internal models, capital planning, crisis management, stress testing, and supervisory policy and methodologies.
We also grant and withdraw authorisations for banks, assess acquirers of qualifying holdings, decide on the classification of banks as “significant” or “less significant”, and assess the suitability of members of their management bodies. In addition, we impose enforcement measures and sanction banks that breach prudential requirements. We develop our supervisory processes, IT systems and communication tools, including by leveraging artificial intelligence.
Besides the identification of risks and supervisory priorities, we continuously monitor and strive to improve the consistency and effectiveness of our supervisory actions.
We are keen to draw on fresh perspectives for different areas of work and are looking to fill 100 traineeship positions in various fields through four traineeship campaigns running in parallel.
 

Your role

As a trainee you will gain unique hands on experience by carrying out day-to-day supervisory activities as part of an international team of experts.
For example, you may:
  • participate in meetings about risks with supervised banks and banking supervisors;
  • assess the impact of risk drivers on banks’ risk profiles;
  • analyse banks’ reports and identify any undesirable developments;
  • assess whether banks are complying with supervisory expectations and regulatory requirements;
  • collect and scrutinise data, producing tables, charts, presentations and reports;
  • support the efficiency of core business processes and systems;
  • enhance and automate data processing tasks;
  • contribute to projects and activities that implement supervisory practices and standards;
  • contribute to one key supervisory process, e.g. planning, supervisory reviews, authorisations, developing supervisory technology, or vertical and horizontal analyses.
You will be working alongside international experts who look forward to benefiting from your enthusiasm and recent academic experience.
The traineeship offers you excellent learning opportunities, such as training courses and workshops. You will also be able to hone your communication and collaboration skills, contributing to memos and presentations and interacting with internal and external audiences. Qualifications, experience and skills

Essential:
  • a bachelor’s degree or higher in law, public administration, business administration, European studies, banking or a similar field (or having obtained at least 180 academic credits under the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System – ECTS – by the closing date for applications);
  • in-depth knowledge of banking, finance, banking supervision and/or financial regulation (i.e. the SSM Regulation, the SSM Framework Regulation, the Capital Requirements Regulation and the Capital Requirements Directive);
  • experience in applying legal requirements and provisions to practical cases, drafting assessments and conducting legal research;
  • analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, teamwork and adaptability;
  • a keen interest in working for a European institution and protecting the stability of the banking system;
  • motivation to make the most of the development opportunities that this traineeship has to offer;
  • an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
  • broad academic knowledge of and/or work experience in any of the following fields: risk analysis, supervisory standards and practices, implications of the digital transformation for the financial sector, banking, finance, banking supervision and/or financial regulation;
  • project management skills;
  • a strong interest in working in a multicultural environment or gaining experience abroad, as demonstrated through, for example, language skills, education, work experience and/or volunteer work.

You will be part of Directorate General International and European Relations. Our Directorate General has 120 staff members preparing the policy positions of the ECB, the Eurosystem and the European System of Central Banks on international and European issues (except for positions on the macroeconomic policies of the euro area or EU Member States).
In your role as a PhD trainee, you will be part of a team in the International Policy Analysis Division. The Division conducts economic analysis of issues of systemic relevance to the global economy, the global monetary and financial system and the international financial architecture, covering topics such as global financial markets, commodities, exchange rates, international spillovers, the transmission of monetary policy across countries, globalisation and capital flows.

Starting with the role: Currently, we are searching to hire an Accountant on a 18 – month contract to join our Accounting Department! During your day you will:
  • Record accounting transactions (revenue, expenses, fixed assets, payroll, receivables) in line with statutory regulations and internal policies
  • Monitor and perform daily accounting operations (accounts payable/receivable), including: 1. Processing and verifying invoices (AP & AR) 2. Reconciling accounts by verifying entries and comparing reports with balances (e.g., balance sheet, P&L, bank reconciliations) 3. Performing accounting entries and updating cost centers
  • Prepare year-end journal entries, provisions, and accruals
  • Execute month-end closing tasks, including monthly VAT returns and VIES
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly tax obligations (withholding tax returns, stamp duty, list of agreements, etc.)
  • Prepare accounting reports as required
What you need to stand out:
  • Deep knowledge of Finance and Accounting
  • Excellent command of Greek and English (written and verbal)
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel
  • BSc in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics will be considered an asset
  • Understanding of the tax regulatory framework will be considered an asset
  • Experience working in a SAP environment will be considered an asset
  • Key competencies: analytical mindset and accuracy, effective communication, organizational and time-management skills, problem-solving ability, proactivity, and strong teamwork

Strategic European Design: Training Programme for Professionals

Press Release Strategic European Design: Training Programme for Professionals The Academy of Entrepreneurship (AKEP) releases a new training programme in collaboration with PRISM Impresa Sociale, Strategic European Design, 4-week training programme that offers a step-by-step introduction to EU project design — starting from the fundamentals of the EU funding system and leading you through the full creation of a project proposal. Ideal for anyone entering the EU project design field and seeking practical, applicable skills to prepare competitive project applications. The training provides a complete overview of the EU project design process — from understanding funding frameworks and identifying relevant calls, to developing concept notes, full proposals, and budgets that meet EU standards. By the end of the course, participants will be able to design structured, results-oriented project proposals, create logical frameworks, and prepare realistic financial plans aligned with EU eligibility and evaluation criteria. What Is Offered The course offers a training experience combining self-paced e-learning with live online sessions with the instructor offering both flexibility and guided support.
  • Four live sessions (one hour each) led by the trainer, including interactive activities and real-case discussions.
  • 18 hours of additional online study, featuring exercises, examples, quizzes and downloadable resources, and a final questionnaire.
  • A certificate of completion issued by AKEP & PRISM, with additional formal certification from IUL University (optional).
The course runs for 4/5 weeks with a total of 24 hours of learning.
