Minerva Marine Inc seeks to recruit a Junior Insurance Officer for its Insurance Department. Main responsibilities:
  • Communicates, coordinates and maintains the appointments agenda between the Insurance Manager and other departments and/or third parties/insurance contacts
  • Maintains office files and records
  • Assists in all administrative activities
  • Receives and refers visitors and telephone callers
  • Distributes mail and responds with formal letters to routine requests
  • Assembles relevant data as directed
  • Produces a variety of correspondence and reports
  • Handles administrative aspects of Group Medical Program
Required Qualifications:
  • University degree in relevant field (Business Administration, Insurance, Maritime, Law).
  • Shipping industry experience and specifically in operations and claims functions will be considered an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of SAP will be considered an asset
  • Driven with good organizational skills and ability to resolve conflicts smoothly
  • Excellent communication skills, building relationships easily, high empathy

CLAIMS ANALYST – TRAFIGURA

Main Purpose: As a Claims Analyst in Trafigura you will prepare, analyse and review all demurrage and post-fixture claims, from and to ship owners and counterparties, interacting internally with all commercial teams, aiming to maximise profit and minimise loss for the Group. You will participate in raising awareness of exposure with many ways (not limited to contracts` negotiation/ annual exposure reports) You will be responsible for your vessels throughout the entire journey from submission of claims till having them settled. You will create bonds with your customers, you will negotiate each and every item and you will be responsible to find creative ways to minimise the outstanding debts. This is a role within a dynamic team of experts, which offers access to unparalleled knowledge, expertise and global exposure by handling all claims for the Trafigura Group.

  • Demurrage
  • Non- Demurrage being all post-fixture items (deviation, speed up, heating, purging, port costs, freight differential, war risk costs)

Main Purpose: To ensure proper handling of invoices basis agreed contracts and services rendered. Update of accounting and monitoring software, communication internally and externally with regards to invoices handled.

Main Purpose: As a Disbursements Checker you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our shipping division. Your main responsibility is to ensure accurate handling of port costs disbursements and endeavour to minimize expenses for the Group. In more detail this will mean negotiation with agents, review of charter parties regarding port costs clauses, update of accounting and monitoring software, communication with ship owners with regards to port costs and costs reporting to Deals Desk and Traders.
