We are a company of academics and engineers offering specialised blockchain technology solutions, based in Athens, Greece. Our team offers enterprise consulting services, assisting corporations in the finance, supply-chain, insurance, and energy sectors. At SignedBlock, we also conduct cryptocurrency algorithmic trading research and develop trading strategies and algorithms in a closed invite-only setting. We build capabilities at all levels, educating management and technical personnel in understanding blockchain both at a business and managerial level as well as at an in-depth technical level.
Οur position is a full-time position in either our local office in Athens, Greece or remote. You can also combine the two and work some days remotely and some locally.

Software Engineer – Algorithmic Trading
We’re looking for a software engineer to join our algorithmic trading team. You’ll be working to collect and analyze historical cryptocurrency price and trading data to propose new strategies using big data, machine learning and natural language processing.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and administrating our Linux servers for data collection, ensuring uninterrupted operation, security, monitoring, and automated deployment of our platform.
- Developing our collection systems to collect high resolution timely financial data from various sources and reverse engineering network protocols to achieve good quality data.
- Analyzing big data using statistical methods to verify trading strategy hypotheses.
- Implementing real-time trading strategies to manage actual capital in time sensitive medium frequency settings.
- Collaborating with our cryptographers in studying the fundamentals of cryptocurrencies to extract experimental hypotheses that are likely to succeed.
- Ensuring robustness of our trading strategies by performing backtesting, unit and end-to-end testing, failsafe mechanisms and redundancy.
Requirements
- An illustrative GitHub portfolio.
- Pursuing or having completed a Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent professional experience.
- Professional knowledge of at least one programming language.
- Good experience with Javascript and node.js.
- Exceptional skills in big data.
- Machine learning experience with a platform of your choice such as Python, Pandas, and NumPy.
- System administration experience with Linux and automated deployment using systems like Docker, Kubernetes, Puppet or Ansible.
