About the Role
We are seeking a Chartering Trainee to join our chartering team. This is an entry-level role designed for candidates who are looking to begin a career in maritime chartering. No prior chartering experience is required, as comprehensive training and support will be provided.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced chartering professionals and gain practical exposure to commercial shipping operations and market activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to the chartering team
- Assist with voyage calculations, fixtures, and related documentation
- Monitor market movements and support basic market reporting
- Communicate with shipowners, brokers, and internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and reports
- Develop an understanding of charter party terms and commercial processes
Candidate Profile
- Strong interest in maritime, shipping, or commercial operations
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel
- Willingness to learn and able to work effectively in a team environment
- Well-organized with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or coursework in maritime studies, business, economics, logistics, or a related discipline
- Internship or office-based experience in shipping
