Starting with the role:
Currently, we are searching to hire an Accountant on a 18 – month contract to join our
Accounting Department!
During your day you will:
- Record accounting transactions (revenue, expenses, fixed assets, payroll, receivables) in line with statutory regulations and internal policies
- Monitor and perform daily accounting operations (accounts payable/receivable), including: 1. Processing and verifying invoices (AP & AR) 2. Reconciling accounts by verifying entries and comparing reports with balances (e.g., balance sheet, P&L, bank reconciliations) 3. Performing accounting entries and updating cost centers
- Prepare year-end journal entries, provisions, and accruals
- Execute month-end closing tasks, including monthly VAT returns and VIES
- Prepare monthly/quarterly tax obligations (withholding tax returns, stamp duty, list of agreements, etc.)
- Prepare accounting reports as required
What you need to stand out:
- Deep knowledge of Finance and Accounting
- Excellent command of Greek and English (written and verbal)
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel
- BSc in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics will be considered an asset
- Understanding of the tax regulatory framework will be considered an asset
- Experience working in a SAP environment will be considered an asset
- Key competencies: analytical mindset and accuracy, effective communication, organizational and time-management skills, problem-solving ability, proactivity, and strong teamwork
