RESEARCH ANALYST – CONTAINER AND DRY BULK

181

Are you interested in the world of shipping and international trade? Would you like to work with the latest maritime trends and ensure high deliverables for our standard reports? Does being part of a team and together raise the bar while having fun, sound like you?

We are looking for a Research Analyst – a curious and collaborative professional with an analytical mind. If you have analytical skills, a sharp eye for details and excellent writing skills, come join our team as we continue our quest to deliver market-leading insights to our clients around the world.

During recent years, we have strengthened our Research team to deliver on our ambition of being our clients’ trusted advisor. Now we are looking for a new colleague to join our team.

We offer:

With MB Shipbrokers, you become part of a global shipbroking company with over a century of experience, a worldwide presence, and an unrivalled dedication to customers. In addition, you will become part of our broader research and advisory team consisting of experienced shipping professionals specialised in finance, statistics, data modelling, energy transition and trade.

Despite the busy nature of shipping and being an international 24/7 business, we know that our employees have a life outside of work and promote a healthy work-life balance.

Key responsibilities:

As a Container and Dry Bulk Analyst, you will join the team responsible for our research into both the Container and Dry Bulk Markets.  In our headquarter in Copenhagen we have two dedicated teams analysing the Container and Dry Bulk Markets, and this newly established role will get a unique insight into both markets. Your role will be in our Athens office, which is one of our biggest offices. As a part of your training, you will spend a couple of weeks in Copenhagen.

This role will focus on delivering and improving all our standard reports for both teams. These reports are vital for both our brokers and customers, and we take great pride in producing high quality reports. You will thrive in this role if you are extremely detail-oriented, enjoy reading and processing latest macro-economic and maritime news and enjoy working with reoccurring tasks.

More specifically, you will be involved in:

  • Translating latest macro-economic and shipping relevant news into crips take-aways
  • Preparing regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly market reports
  • Optimize and improve our reports
  • Writing strong and to-the-point research text input

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a committed and independent colleague who is highly organised, structured and preferably with sector specific experience. You are detail-oriented and take pride in delivering high-standard reports. You enjoy processing a lot of information and clearly communicating main take-aways. Moreover, we imagine that you:

  • Have 1- 3 years’ working experience, preferably from the shipping- or energy industry (but not a pre-requisite)
  • Either hold a degree in business, administration, international trade, finance and/or are an experienced shipping professional
  • Are a good communicator both orally and in writing
  • Have a high proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with VBA, SQL and PowerBi is a plus, but not a must.
  • Are fluent in spoken and written English

All in all, you will thrive in this role because you are structured, a team player and enjoy making the best possible reports and presentations.
