Data Engineer

As a part of a dynamic Information Technology team, you will participate in the full lifecycle of Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence projects. From gathering business requirements to designing, developing, testing, and rolling out solutions, you’ll play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights.

Your day-to-day:

  • Design & Build: Develop, test, and deploy advanced ETL processes to move and transform enterprise data.
  • Project Involvement: Actively contribute to ERGO’s Data Warehouse Project.
  • Collaborate: Participate in design sessions to shape data models.
  • Technical Expertise: Understand both business and technical requirements, provide subject matter expertise, and implement data engineering techniques.
  • Data Management: Retrieve, transform, validate, and clean data to meet both functional and non-functional business needs.
  • Algorithm Development: Create algorithms to convert data into valuable, actionable information.
  • Process Monitoring: Ensure automated processes are running smoothly and meet defined standards.
  • Compliance: Adhere to data governance and security policies.

What we are looking for:

  • Educational Background: BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technology field.
  • Technical Skills:
    o Proficiency in Azure Cloud technologies, distributed computing principles, and familiarity with key architectures.
    o Broad experience with data stores such as Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Synapse Analytics, Apache Spark, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
    o Strong SQL and Python skills.
    o Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.
    o Familiarity with data visualization tools, preferably Power BI.
  • Soft Skills:
    o Multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities with a creative mindset.
    o Self-motivated with a continuous learning attitude.
    o Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek and English.
    o Continuous Improvement Mindset: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data and MLOps engineering, identifying opportunities to incorporate new tools and techniques to enhance processes and AI capabilities.
