The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus announces one (1) Special Scientist (Project Implementation Specialist) position, for full-time employment. The successful candidate will contribute to the efficient and effective management of a portfolio of projects funded by a variety of external sources, such as the EU Research and Innovation programs (e.g., Horizon EU, European Regional Development Fund, and other national and international funding programs).

The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence is the largest research center at the University of Cyprus and in 2017 was upgraded to a European Research Center of Excellence through the KIOS CoE Teaming project. Currently, the Center employs more than 180 people who are supported by externally funded research and innovation projects. Job Details
The successful candidate is expected to:
• Provide specialist support for the implementation of projects funded from EU and other competitive funding sources.
• Collect and analyze data relevant to KIOS CoE Projects.
• Support the preparation of grant agreements and consortium agreements.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining internal systems for the management of projects.
• Organize document management systems and processes to support reporting, record keeping and the collation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Support the collation and editing of data and information for reports, deliverables, project communication material and presentations.
• Undertake administrative support activities for proposal preparation and project implementation.
• Perform day-to-day project work, event and meeting organization, teleconference organization, project specific communications support.
• Prepare project reports and other relevant documents.
• Assist in applying quality assurance in KIOS CoE project implementation.
• Communicate, cooperate and liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Business and/or Public Administration or Law or Political Science or European Studies or other related field, from an accredited institution.
• Experience of supporting the implementation of projects will be considered an advantage.
Employment Terms:
The position is on a contract basis. Initially, a one-year contract will be offered, with a 6-month probation period, which is renewable based on performance. The gross monthly salary depends on the candidate’s qualifications and experience and will be between €1500 – €2200. From this amount, employee contributions to the Cyprus government funds will be deducted. A 13th salary bonus is incorporated in the monthly salary. Maternity leave will be granted based on Maternity Protection Law 1997(Ν.100(Ι)/1997), and the existing amendment laws.
