On behalf of our client, ELPEDISON, we are looking to recruit a Data Architect.

ELPEDISON, with its two privately-owned power plants in Thisvi (Voiotia) and Thessaloniki, with a total installed capacity of 820 MW, uses natural gas as fuel and ensures a clean and continuous electricity flow, based on a highly environmentally-friendly power generation process.

The position

Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the enterprise cross-data architecture. This role works closely with stakeholders to understand their data requirements. Responsible to design and implement appropriate data models (conceptual, logical, and physical models) and databases, and ensure data quality and consistency. Also, this role is responsible to communicate the enterprise cross-data architecture, including data models, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and metadata management processes to all stakeholders.

Main Duties

  • Designs diagrams for data models (conceptual, logical, and physical models).
  • Designs data warehouses, data lakes and their data flow diagrams to support the company’s data needs.
  • Develops and maintains a data architecture roadmap that identifies current and future data-related initiatives and projects.
  • Provides guidance and support to data analysts, data engineers, and other members of the data team by participating in data-related projects, such as data migrations, data conversions, and data integrations.
  • Develops and maintains data models in order to be aligned with business requirements and supports the organization’s strategic data goals.
  • Collaborates with the IT security team to identify and mitigate data-related risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology or relevant field.
  • Master’s degree will be considered an asset.
  • 3-6 years of professional experience in Enterprise Data Architecture, Software Architecture, Data Engineering, Data Flow Analysis, Data Platforms.
  • Prior experience in the energy sector will be considered a plus.
  • Experience in using DAMA-BOK standards to ensure that all data in an organization is accurate and consistent.
  • Experience of data architecture principles and how these can be practically applied within a similar organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of data flow modelling and cloud-based solution development standards.
  • Analysis of complex IT application landscapes and data flows.
  • Hands-on experience of designing diagrams for data models (conceptual, logical, and physical models) using data models tools.
  • Understanding of cloud-based data solutions including data lakes, data warehouses and ETL pipelines (ex AWS, MS Azure etc).
  • Experience in the design and implementation of D&A operation scaling process (DataOps and MLOps), in order to ensure the productivity, reliability and security of a Data platform.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent command of the English language; both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. R and Python).
