CLAIMS ANALYST – TRAFIGURA

Main Purpose:

As a Claims Analyst in Trafigura you will prepare, analyse and review all demurrage and post-fixture claims, from and to ship owners and counterparties, interacting internally with all commercial teams, aiming to maximise profit and minimise loss for the Group. You will participate in raising awareness of exposure with many ways (not limited to contracts` negotiation/ annual exposure reports) You will be responsible for your vessels throughout the entire journey from submission of claims till having them settled. You will create bonds with your customers, you will negotiate each and every item and you will be responsible to find creative ways to minimise the outstanding debts.
This is a role within a dynamic team of experts, which offers access to unparalleled knowledge, expertise and global exposure by handling all claims for the Trafigura Group.

Review, analysis and submission of the following claims:

  • Demurrage
  • Non- Demurrage being all post-fixture items (deviation, speed up, heating, purging, port costs, freight differential, war risk costs)

Report P&L to internal stakeholders

Negotiation of all claims and communication with owners and counterparties

Abilities, Experience and Qualifications:

  • University Degree
  • Understanding of basic shipping terms, claims or operations will be an asset
  • Experience in similar position will be considered as an advantage
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written)
  • Strong digital literacy (MS office applications)
