Business Need / Purpose of Role

The Boarding Agent (Cruise Operations) reporting to the Marine Service Manager calls for a person with high sense of authority and reliability, where will be responsible for managing vessels’ requirements, booking relevant services, issuing all relevant shipping documentation, undertaking vessel boarding and perform any other tasks related to the role. You will have the chance to attain your skills and advance your opportunities with us, given our dominant position in the Marine Service industry.

Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the pre-arrival documentation process between vessel, port/terminal and government authorities.
  • Data entry to the NSW portal (governmental – pre arrival information)
  • Ensure timely berthing and unberthing of the vessel.
  • Book port services for vessel’s berthing/unberthing and operations.
  • Submission of vessel’s arrival – departure paperwork to the local authorities.
  • Interaction with key ship’s staff.
  • Timely payment of the clearance invoices.
  • Board vessels as / when required.
  • Liaison between principals and port services on a daily basis.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies.
  • Use and update the internal systems.
  • Responding to the principal’s / vessels requests through email or phone in a timely manner (24/7).
  • Crew change handling upon request.
  • Handling of third- party principals requests (i.e. Special Needs)
  • Provide assistance to the local partners in the Greek islands when required.
  • May need to travel to ports for special cases/calls.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good communication skills, oral and written

Education, Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses

Education/Experience

  • Good MS Office
  • Excellent English language
  • Knowledge of port agency business
  • Use of software
  • Knowledge of Port, Customs and Immigration regulations

Licenses

  • A current, valid driver’s license is required
