Physical Commodities – Junior Fertiliser Trading Analyst
We are actively seeking to recruit a Junior Fertiliser Trading Analyst to join us in Athens, Greece. This is an entry level position of full time employment. We are looking for candidates with a strong track record of academic achievement and a keen interest in the international markets.
Job specification:
The key activities will be to:
– monitor and analyse market fundamentals (structure, maintain and update historical and current data – e.g. Supply and Demand tables, Export – Import databases, historical trade flow developments, pricing databases etc).
– liaise with the company’s operation and shipping departments on a day to day basis, monitoring trades trade flows and relating current developments to database maintenance and subsequent analysis
– assist the fertiliser trading team in fundamental information access on relevant markets
The successful candidate will have:
– a Bachelor’s degree in a discipline which develops strong statistical-numerical skills . A Major in Statistics/Computer Science/Information Technology/Economics/Finance &/or Chemical Engineering will be valued. A Master’s degree will also be valued but is not a pre-requisite.
– 1-2 years professional experience/exposure in a business or research related activity preferably with some international exposure would be valued.
– knowledge of marine transportation will be a plus but not a pre-requisite.
– language skills: fluency in English – additional languages are an asset.
– ability to adapt to different cultures and backgrounds.
– excellent communication skills.
– proficient IT skills in the Windows environment (Mastery of Microsoft Excel and Access is a minimum requirement).
– high-level of self-motivation and flexibility, ability to work under stress and to meet tight deadlines.
