Marine Logistics Planner

Titan Cement Company SA – Greece

Based at the company’s Headquarters in Athens, Greece

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Planner determines ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency, to minimize cost in the Greek Region, taking into consideration all safety and environmental issues in all Logistics related activities

Main duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Monitors industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics planning or execution
  • Tracks product flow from origin to final delivery and recommends optimal transportation modes, routes for land and sea distribution
  • Reorganizes shipping schedules to consolidate loads, maximize vehicle usage, or limit the movement of empty vehicles or containers
  • Supports the operation of distribution centers to ensure achievement of cost productivity accuracy
  • Takes part in the negotiation procedures of transportation rates or services
  • Collaborates with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems
  • Develops or maintains models for logistics uses, such as cost estimating or demand forecasting
  • Interprets data on logistics elements, such as availability, maintainability, reliability, supply chain management, strategic sourcing or distribution, supplier management or transportation
  • Analyzes the financial impact of proposed changes such as routing shipping models, product volumes or carriers 

Desired Skills and Experience

Candidate profile:

  • Sc. in the area of Shipping or Business Administration with specialization in Shipping
  • Post Graduate Studies in Logistics will be considered a plus
  • Relevant experience in Logistics Analysis, Shipping or International Transportation will be an asset
  • Accuracy in analyzing and researching data by using various tools/systems
  • Demonstrated ability to use analytical thinking/techniques to solve problems
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently with deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English
  • Excellent knowledge on MS Excel and MS Access
  • Military Service fulfilled (if applicable)
